LOL at both of you. There are no super clubs in the area.
Define "Super club." My argument is that Pipeline is closer to fitting that definition than any other club in the area. Anytime you have a club with an A nd B team that are nationally competitive, you have include them. In the NE, PDA and FC Stars fit the definition. Pipeline is the closest example in this area.
put the bong down
I wish this forums weren't anonymous so that I can know which ignorant poster is responding. Pipeline had a team at the DA playoffs and two teams going to US Youth Soccer nationals. I don't believe the 05s have lost to an ECNL team. Even if your nose is buried in DA, you would still know that the WS MD team which will become more of a Pipeline club had a respectable season and will become more competitive under Pipeline/Armour leadership. FCV does not have B teams as strong as Pipeline's B teams.
LMAO. The former WS DA team will not become any more a "Pipeline" club than they were previously. The only thing that's changing there is who is signing the staff checks; the partnership has been in place since the start. It was always WS-Baltimore Armour. Pipeline has good talent. FCV has good talent. So do many other "elite" clubs in this area. None are "Super Clubs." Not by a longshot. If you spent any significant amount of time actually watching these games, you'd know that. Anonymous or otherwise.
Sorry but you are leaving out key details. First, the fact that Pipeline/Armour will be a club centered around Baltimore as opposed to one practicing in Germantown and Columbia, is a big deal. The club will now draw from the talented teams in the Baltimore area that were not willing to travel out to Germantown for practice. Also, w/o WS involved, the Pipeline/Armour crew can take total control of the training and selection. Yes, Pipeline and FCV both have good talent but FCV does not have nationally competitive B teams. They just don't. Let's put it this way, if Pipeline wanted to stay in DA and field an ECNL team, they could do both. FCV can't and remain competitive across both leagues. Finally, I did not say that Pipeline is a Super Club. The argument is that in this area, Pipeline is the closest to a competitive club.
Let's put it this way, better clubs than Pipeline were denied two teams per age group in ECNL. Pipeline is not PDA, not by a long shot. Please just stop. Pipeline is a feeder club. The WS Spirit MD teams were not dominant. It sounds like if anything Pipeline is hoarding players and as a club is not really buying into DA. Parents like you seem to be convincing other parents that keeping the team together and being the best team in a third tier league is the best way to go. If the kids on your team are considering playing in college you are doing those players an incredible disservice by persuading them to stay at EDP in order to milk GotSoccer points when ECNL and DA simply do not do enough GotSoccer events to generally be in the mix of the overall rankings. Past U13 GotSoccer rankings are fools gold. Your kids will not get to play in showcases that would benefit them while hoping that Jeff Cup will get it done. The coaches attending Jeff Cup versus ECNL or DA events is laughable. Pipeline is not DA and if you think that the club affiliation will carry any kind of weight you are wrong. You have to explain your teams success like someone explaining the punchline of a bad joke.
