DA is stronger on the boys side, but on the girls side ECNL is stronger.
There’s no comparison on the boys side. Girls depends on part of the country.
Girls only is arguable at the U17 and older. Younger than that the GDA is far stronger overall than the ECNL. There are few exceptional teams in ECNL but absolutely no depth.
That claim makes zero sense. At best, all you can say is that its is region by region. Some of the best clubs in the country left the DA to return to ECNL. PDA, FC Stars and Michigan Hawks left DA for ECNL and you argue that the talent is not deep.
I think the PP means the number of quality clubs across the board is not theat deep at ECNL. Yes, outside of PDA, Hawks there are few super clubs. Some big Texas clubs went back to DA after going to ECNL, Tophat left ECNL as well as Real Colorado. And the big Southern Cal defections never materialized. Things are beginning to stabilize. It then is a matter of where the players migrate to and the choice between leagues really do allow kids to pick what is best for them. Our area is probably the most diluted in this fight but the upside is the net is cast much wider than in the past and that is better in the long run.
In terms of the number of quality teams in ECNL, I can say the same about any league. I think between Richmond and Baltimore, you have five teams that can probably compete with anyone in the country. Some of the teams are in ECNL, some in DA and others are independent. From 06 to 01, that is the case.
No, there is a difference between a Super Club and a one off great team at a club. Let’s keep this to “Super Clubs”.
