This. The debt burden will not be huge. The experience will be better, she will benefit from going to college with an amazing peer group, and she will enjoy whatever cachet and "benefit of the doubt" come from a Yale degree for her entire life. BU is a fine school, but Yale is very special opportunity.[/quote]

I now see that this thread is two years old...but I'll respond anyway since others surely face similar decisions. OP said after savings and what they can contribute from income, the gap was $15,000 per year. So $60,000 was the four year total. [/quote]
