I think this started when one poster stated that some W feeders were vastly better and offered HS SAT averages as proof of their claim. Then several other posters dug a little deeper and found their data was out of date and misleading and in fact the real STEM schools actually do as well or better. This hasn't sat well with some parents, but the facts were clear cut.
The facts were clear cut: every year up to 2017 when MCPS has data (from MCPS website), Blair's average SAT is clearly lower than the Ws. Someone had a document on Adobe Cloud, appearing to be a report from Blair showing its class 2018 has SAT average of 1318 (or something alike), which is about 150 higher that how Blair did in previous years. There is no other data on class 2018 in any other MoCo HS to compare with this number. These are the facts. You compare different schools in the same year. In any previous years, Blair is not as good as the Ws. In 2018, Blair's (claimed to be by that Adobe CLoud doc) SAT has nothing to be compared with - no SAT results shown from any other schools in MoCo. I don't see the logic in saying "Blair is much better" from any of these data.
