Some argument presented here are hilarious. Comments like, it's not horrible. It's a small 3 blocks. it won't add many students. All that is fine then why do you want to increase 120% limit? 120% limit is itself pretty poor, why will you advocate for more? it defies all logic.
Three blocks of high rises in the suburbs. People with kids don’t buy those. Very few people will be added to the schools. Why don’t you care if we have a failed town center? Now the city council is creating a fund to subsidize failed businesses. I’d rather more people live there and support it without our tax dollars going to these businesses.
Oh please, people don't shop at those stores because the prices are ridiculous. I bought one thing at Dawson's once, and the price was so ridiculous I'd rather drive to Giants up the road than buy anything at Dawsons. Similar to those boutiques. And I hate that Rockville is subsidizing those failing businesses. Setting the capacity threshold to 150% is ridiculous. MCPS is a large district, and there is only so much money in the pot. MD isn't going to give MCPS more money. I don't want my taxes to keep going up. This stupid move is only going to force BOE to move funds from one needed CIP to RM. I'm not that selfish to take money from other badly needed improvements in other schools.
