These are narratives that need to be dismantled. I'm sure he'll give you, the friend, the shirt. But, would he give it to an addict on the streets, an immigrant, a person who kneeled at their football game, a woman wearing a Nasty Woman shirt? Maybe some really would not exclude, but my guess is that most would. This entire OP is trying to reconcile this - but people are kind to those they know and those they approve of. When it comes to everyone else a sense of unease kicks in, so they protect who and what they know. [/quote]

Not the PP, but exactly the same can be said about highly partisan liberals, particularly those on full display here.  Do you think they’re going to “give their shirt” to just anyone?  No way would they help someone who voted for Trump, or Republicans in general.  Remember, they’ve stated repeatedly that they hope Trump voters get sick, die, etc etc.  Liberals have made no bones about their hatred of conservatives/Republicans/Trump voters.  It’s entirely disingenuous to pretend they’re helping anyone but people who follow their narratives.  [/quote]

Did I claim that liberals give their shirts more than salt of the earth types? I did not. And, I will not start that narrative.

Do I care if liberals give their shirts to those folks? No, I do not. Because I believe that enacting policies benefits those with addictions, immigrants, POC, and women more than giving them a used t-shirt.

Truth.  The truth is, most people, regardless of political affiliation, are selfish jerks when it comes down to it.  Salt of the earth, my butt.  That t-shirt is for friends and family.  Someone else, nope.[/quote]
