Simply having a lot of kids isn't all that interesting.  Having 5 baby girls all born to a couple at the same time is unusual and it's interesting to see how the parents handle a situation like that.

Jon and Kate started off as a documentary which turned into a show.  People watched it mainly because of Kate and her OCD, perfectionistic, micromanaging personality.  If it had just been Jon and an equally boring wife the show probably wouldn't have lasted.

Outdaughtered and Jon and Kate plus 8 are a lot better and more interesting and far less objectionable than a lot of the other reaity shows out there.
