I don't buy that for a minute.  Bethenny was MORTIFIED at that dinner.  She looked like she was on the verge of tears, she was so embarrassed.  Dorinda was her guest and she was acting like a complete and total ass.  I have never had more sympathy for Bethenny in any other scene, including when her scary ex was driving her to a mental breakdown in the Berkshires.  Plus, even if Bethenny "set her up" (by giving her access to alcohol??), the things Dorinda was saying -- charity isn't worth it, no one in Haiti has a college degree -- were the things coming out of her brain, not Bethenny's.

Yeah, it doesn't ring true.  Firstly, it's great that Richard was great.  But being married to someone great doesn't mean YOU are great.  Secondly Dorinda said it was useless to give money to Haiti because no amount would ever be enough, nobody from Haiti would amount to anything.  Dorinda said that to a man who adopted children from Haiti and was putting them through college.

Secondly, Dorinda claims she and Bethenny were drinking together.  Bethenny wasn't seeming drunk. So perhaps Dorinda needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and realize she can't handle her alcohol.

Thirdly, there's no way I believe Bethenny set Dorinda up.  Sure, maybe the dinner WAS last minute. But Dorinda could have said, "Thank you so much for inviting me but I think I've had too much to drink and won't be able to present well, so I'll have to pass." Dorinda could have gone but stayed quiet and listened, to learn about cultures and a way of fundraising she clearly knew nothing about.  Bethenny's not the type to set up  a person to look awful. Ramona is, but Bethenny isn't. [/quote]
