That is outdated info for BRYC. Now it is ECNL, then Elite for U13 and above (when there is a second team). Blue only exists at U12 and below, and only when there need to be separate "teams" for tournaments -- otherwise it is an Academy pool at those ages.

The black/silver teams are "bridge" teams, usually volunteer/parent coaches. They fall under the travel side, just like the other teams, as far as administration goes. Some work with the other teams in their age group, I'm sure some don't.

BRYC Elite's tryout page for the boys lists it like this - so you're correct that I missed the ECNL teams (my age group doesn't have one this year), but they do still list the Blue team option.

ECNL & Academy (Elite & Blue) Teams
