Agreed. I grew up poor and my MIL grew up in post-war Germany, she and I just sneak in our tricks for saving old food when no one else is looking. No one has gotten sick yet, and we've saved a ton of money.[/quote]

Hard cheese is fine to cut off mold. As the English say - if the mold won't eat our cheese why should we. If soft cheese gets mold you have to throw it out. Spors go all through. People are ridiculous with waste nowadays. Especially the middle class and those who have UMC wealth but middle class values. The rich are more saving. [/quote]
