After all these pages, did I have to wander over from Off Topic to explain The Manhattan Trophy Wife:

Scarmucci married young to a nice woman who put up with his BS to help propel him to fortune.   
When he reached that point, the candy box of smart, attractive NY women opened to him.  Said women are looking for ways to propel their careers or withdraw from the rat race, bear a few children and be given a life time income, whether divorced or not.

When wife #2 had the first baby and liked motherhood more than her arm candy life, the Mooch returned to an even larger group of women.  He cheated while pregnant and forced her hand to divorce him.   She will live nicely off child support and alimony for 18 years and be able to convince a NY court that she is no longer employable and get alimony for the rest of her life.

This is all classic New York wealth behavior.    The second and subsequent marriages of the wealthy, particularly men, are more mergers than love matches
