[/quote] Ironically, cell phone records exposing perjury in court were the first shoe to drop on corrupt Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. He lied about an affair on the stand during a civil trial. Text messages published by the Detroit Free Press months later proved that was a lie. Wayne County (Detroit) prosecutor then charged him with perjury and obstruction of justice. He had to resign and served 99 days in county jail. Much later the FBI got him on all of his years of public corruption and ultimately he was sentenced to 28 years in federal prison.[/quote]
