LMAO No my friend, "10,000" is laughably bad.  Overwhelming majority of Russia's tanks were non-operational, stolen/stripped for parts and sold, rusted to pieces and so on.  3400 is probably quite accurate for number of [i]operational[/i] tanks.[/quote]

Whatever numbers Russia and before, the Soviet Union claimed to have produced in the first place are no doubt grossly exaggerated.  Plants routinely exaggerated production numbers to keep the bosses happy, and there is rampant corruption, no doubt plenty of sleazy characters taking money to build, maintain and store tanks that don't even exist.  Just like Russia's problem with its thousands of soldiers who are on the payroll but don't actually exist, with their paychecks going to corrupt officers.
