You say it’s a major red flag (for what?) and diminishes the team’s standards, yet you just named 2 of the perennial top clubs in the nation. In 2025 those were the top 2 and 3 clubs in the nation. Their teams are very often #1, 2 or 3 in the country. I don’t get what’s diminished or the red flag. I could see people thinking out of principle they should stick with their local talent, as part of a level playing field. But honestly there’s so much that’s not level beyond a fly in.
Exactly. And from what I understand, the fly-ins often make plenty of practices. Those elite programs attract top talent because they consistently win and their girls play at their dream schools. In order to keep that going, they take the top players from anywhere.
Sounds like an elite National team.
You can label it any way you want, but the formula is obviously working. Also, it’s not like half the team are fly-ins. I believe SW has one, and I think that neither m&d or HG have any (yet). For the 29s, i dont think HG or SW have any, and I think m&d only has 2.
Both M&D and Heros 2030 teams have fly ins from the west coast.
Was unaware, thought they were both still all local. But my point remains, it’s not half of the team.
Who said it was half the team?
Someone said “it’s like an elite national team,” which reasonable posters know means a collection of talent from all over the country. I stated that it is typically only a few kids, so not really a “national team” situation at all. If it was, half, or more, of the team would be from out of state. Got it?
You also stated it was only Skywalkers. Multiple reasonable observers of the 2030 teams had to help educate you.
Lol, ok dork. As seen by the recent post on local teams “not being able to develop local talent,” someone is trying to make it seem like m&d, heros, and sw are only successful bc of fly-ins and that is simply not true. I know enough to know that while it does happen, it isn’t common and most teams that around here that do it have one or two out of state girls.
What you’re experiencing is envy. These posters know their kids won’t make M&D or HG, so they need excuses for why those programs are better. So the two best teams in the area are successful, but not doing it the moral and just way like capital or whatever team their kid will be joining. It’s the same as when teams from here beat LI teams and the LI parents whine that all of our girls are hold backs.
If sourcing from the west coast is the only way to stay competitive and beat the NY teams seems MD isn’t the hotbed it used to be.
