Stars LB actually played MDU West today not East.
Ha, ha, ha. There is my troll. But the home is on your because Stars played both teams today and won them both
Wow wow wow. I guess Pride was supposed to win by one base on the current ratings, but the Stars win is a big deal.
I don’t care if Pride was supposed to win or not. That was a big deal too. I was there watching it before our Stars game. And trust me, I was just as excited as their parents. Both wins were big deals 28s in NOVA are FINALLY coming out to play
I watched this game. Both teams looked bad, couldn't clear, couldn't complete a pass, just ugly lacrosse. Constant whistles. Both teams looked like deer in headlights, afraid to make mistakes. Pride needs to figure out their clears, the goalie just throwing up 50/50 balls to midfield isn't going to work.
Agree- each team might have had 20 turnovers, most of them unforced. Both teams goalies played great in the cage. There were also a ton of fouls and neither team could finish on an 8 meter. MDU did have three yellow cards in the second half which Pride capitalized on to score their last two goals.
Seems like a lot of the girls have not figured out a horizontal stick is auto foul, and one to the back is auto Yellow Card. Lacrosse needs to take a long look at how they coach defense. Colleges get away with a ton of stuff that you can't do at youth/HS level. Kids watch NCAA, if they want to clean up the crosschecking, they need to start at the top.
Agree-the horizontal sticks were a point of emphasis at the referee meetings prior to the season, unfortunately each game/ref calls it differently. I think it started at the college level as it is really difficult for a defender to slow down a strong, fast offensive player with a full head of steam even if you have great defensive footwork. I will say I think they need to help the defenders out with a few more charging calls with the new emphasis on no horizontal sticks.
