I spent Thanksgiving in Chesapeake, VA and the prices down there were similar as well. I noticed most grocery items were higher down there than here. I think gas was also $3.56 but I can't be sure because I didn't fill up, I was the passenger and not paying the best attention. [/quote]

Yes, the house my sister and BIL just bought in Southern VA would be at least $1.3mil up here. They paid $489k. They moved because they kept getting outbid by $50k+ up here for about 2 years. [/quote]
