I think this is a misportrayal as there were specifically targeted individuals who were viewed as corrupt, pro-Russia or otherwise problematic to the war effort.  Poroshenko for example was not targeted, despite being an opposition candidate to Zelenskyy, and likewise many other opposition candidates were not targeted in this way.[/quote]
