Anyone who advocates “negotiations” or a “peace plan” while Russia occupies any part of Ukraine (including Crimea) is simply shilling for Putin: [twitter]https://twitter.com/rshereme/status/1671942614906535961/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1671942614906535961¤tTweetUser=rshereme[/twitter]
This is the sort of thinking that will ultimately cost Ukraine more than had they just let their Russian majority territories go. The Ukraine is simply incapable of dislodging Russia from Crimea and most of the other territory it currently controls. The Ukraine can only keep up this resistance so long as the West is willing to fund and supply them. Western stocks are being rapidly depleted in key areas, and the financial burden is causing pushback. Further, it can only keep up resistance so long as its men are willing to walk into the meat-grinder. There are more and more stories of sabotage, refusal and draft dodging every day. The Ukraine simply lacks the demography to sustain its losses and have anything like a functioning nation when this is all over. Its best case scenario involves mass population replacement from the developing world. If/when the government collapses, its going to be hard to keep Polish and Hungarian "peacekeepers" from gobbling up parts of its territory. Ukraine as an independent nation is pretty much a long shot at this point. Its going to get chopped up, and what is left will be entirely dependent on foreign nations. Its a much greater cost than letting the Russian parts go free.
Or it will be an extremely weak country with poor standards of living, which often happens to countries after the western support is withdrawn or diminished.
