Are there more people leaving from lower or higher tiered teams? Is moving up truly a rare occasion at valor? If it happens, when does it happen the most (mid season, during winter break, during summer break)? Is another kid getting moved down or is a vacant spot being filled?
Your child will only be moved up after tryouts in spring for the next season. IF there is an open spot on the next higher up team. If there are players on the next higher up team who are weaker than your player, your kid will not bump them for their spot as they are paying customers and Valor values that far more than accurate team placement.
This is simply not accurate as a blanket statement. Multiple kids in my child’s age group have been moved up midseason in previous years. Including from second team to top team. Other kids have been moved down to make room for the ones who got moved up. We have even seen a bit of movement in the middle of a season but that’s more rare. I suspect midseason changes are coming again based on things the coach has said. I don’t know what happens in other age groups, but PP should not speak as though they know what’s happening across the whole club. Valor definitely has issues but it’s just not true that changes are only made after spring tryouts. Sounds like PP’s experience was a problem with a specific coach being too chicken to piss off certain parents. I have been surprised at how many kids who have been moved down (or not moved up) actually stay. Some have left, but most have stayed. I think some of them know they’d be on an even lower team elsewhere.
This sounds like bait and switch to me. A parent accepted a spot on VALOR PURPLE for the entire year. How can they take their $3000 and then midway thru the season, move them down to the Valor Pink team? They aren't getting what they paid for, a spot on the Valor Purple team.
I cannot imagine trying to use that argument to fight my child being moved down. How embarrassing! If a coach clearly thinks your kid isn’t good enough for their team why would you insist they stay on that team. That sounds like it would be very awkward for everyone.
If the club lets them out of their contract or gives them a refund for the remainder of the season, its reasonable. But people contracted for the Purple team, not just any team.
If you cannot keep up, you are demoted, simple as that. There is no contract about team placement. You are only accepted to the club.
it simply doesnt happen. If a kid moved down its by parent choice.. mid season. Trust me it happened you would have a ton of complaints. Was the age group doing an academy style?
