What's wrong with the Crossfield moms? The RIO moms claim that Crossfield is not that far from Oakton, and the pro-Western moms claim that Crossfield is closer to Western than to McNair and Coates.
I don't think anyone claimed it was closer. I'm the one that pointed out that the closest kids from both schools are about equidistant--which is a fact. One thing for sure, the Crossfield parent who claims she can get to Oakton faster than to Carson is stretching the truth. And, if that is the case, the closest school to her house just might be a different high school.
dp. And the furthest kids from Crossfield are live further out than kids from any other prospective school. Bussing to Oakton, and the waste of time and tax payer money it entails, is a much better argument for Crossfield.
They live closer than most Lees Corner kids.
From the fifth scenario that might not be real?
Yes. None of the options given in the Western boundary have any child living very far from the school The ones who live a little farther might actually be closer to South Lakes--Calkins Rd area and those other neighborhoods beyondv the synagogue on Reston Parkway. So, distance from the new school is really not a good argument. All are pretty close--most are very close. No one lives close --or anywhere near close--to Oakton High School. And, as has been presented lately, transportation does cost money.
FWIW. Lees Corner school--and much of its neighborhoods are VERY close to Chantilly. Next to Greenbriar West and Brookfield, deinitely the closest.
Meh. A lot of Franklin Glen and Armfield farm are just about the same drive time to Chantilly vs KAA.
KAA is not fa4, but Chantilly is much closer.
