Let me get this right, we are questioning a club that has a tryout going into soph year with goal to potentially make a team stronger heading into recruiting year? What do you think happens when girls get to college and they are constantly recruiting the next best players? You 29 parents are soft.
Two things: 1) we aren’t questioning tryouts so much as trying to figure out what that poster meant by 1-5 replacements being the norm for cap blue teams. That just seems weird that it’s a given that this takes place. Yes, girls leave or an elite player looks for a new team occasionally, I’m just blown away that mass replacement is supposedly a thing. Isn’t it best to identify girls early on, develop them, and then make minor changes to the roster as needed? It seems like that is what heros and m&d have been doing and it is obviously working. 2) invite only for elite teams makes sense, it has nothing to do with being soft. Unless some elite kid leaves a rival, which rarely happens, why would heros green need to have a tryout? They are a top 5 team, have the girls they like and have developed already, and they brought it one NGLL all-region level defender to complete the roster pre-HS. Why wouldn’t they do it that way? Is some kid that no one has seen going to appear out of thin air and make heros? You think that the 2029 coaches don’t know who the 2029s worth taking are at this point?
