As Democrat mayors continue their resistance to federal law, they should consider that Trump is able to pull World Cup matches from their cities.
How so? FIFA has signed contracts with each of the venues. Are you suggesting Trump is a socialist and should interfere in the private transaction of independent entities?
US is the hosting country, along with Mexico and Canada, and Trump can declare what cities are safe or unsafe.
Yeah, and what if FIFA just decides to have all the games played in Canada and Mexico, bypassing the gestapo USA outright. So much winning.
This is so hilarious if you really think FIFA is bypassing the US. When pictures and article appeared during Trump’s inauguration I told my high school aged sons- Memorize who attended to understand what is going to happen in this country. So look back and see this press release frim FIFA: [FIFA President] Gianni Infantino has thanked Donald Trump for referencing FIFA and the FIFA President by name in an address at a rally which was staged on the eve of the 47th US President’s inauguration in Washington DC. Mr Infantino, who was present at the event and will also attend Monday’s inauguration in the American capital, said it was “unique (and) beautiful” for FIFA and was a demonstration of the great respect football’s governing body enjoys around the world. Mr Trump had welcomed the FIFA President to his residence in Florida on Friday, 17 January 2025, where they discussed the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, to be entirely hosted by the United States, and the FIFA World Cup 26™, which the country will co-host with Canada and Mexico.
Bizarrely, the FIFA head was also at the official signing of the Gaza ceasefire deal, which was attended by world leaders. Does anyone know what business the FIFA head would have at that particular event? [twitter]https://x.com/business/status/1978156366075183602?s=46[/twitter]
