Yesterday some Democrats were mad at Bernie for comparing Hillary to Dick Cheney. That's very definitely negative campaigning. But last night he started a fight that I think he will really regret. He said he would've welcomed the endorsement of groups like HRC and Planned Parenthood, but that they are part of the establishment he is running against. Groups fighting to protect reproductive rights and rights for LGBTQ people are actually fighting against the establishment. Needless to say, he pissed off a lot of advocates whose support he will need.
Sanders said that experience in foreign policy is relevant but is not everything and that good judgement is just as important. He then said that Cheney was experienced in foreign policy but his judgement was terrible - to make his point. It is an entirely valid comparison in that context. PP and LGBTQ will support Sanders if he is the nominee. Who do you think they are going to support on the Republican side as an alternative?
Either he doesn't understand or he's being disingenuous. If he really thinks groups like this on the establishment, well, that just reinforces stereotypes of him as a white man who doesn't get it.
Leaving aside whether your argument is valid, if Sanders is the nominee who do you think these groups are going to support as an alternative on the Republican side? They will either support him or not vote. Unless you think they are going to vote for Trump or Cruz!
It's not a question of voting for him alone. Do you really not get it? Planned Parenthood was the subject of a recent terrorist attack. Republicans continually try to cripple it. Labeling as "establishment" an organization that provides healthcare for many poor women and women of color is just plain stupid if you're a Democrat, and it's also completely counter to the message that you want to reduce inequality. This was not a fight he needed to pick. He just did it because he's pissed off that he didn't get these endorsements.
You are way over-reacting..............
