Blizzard bags are an online alternative to make-up days.  If the Shelby City School District reaches calamity days six, seven or eight, parents and students are directed to the following sites to access the appropriate “blizzard bags”.

K-4 students: Go to the Shelby City School District’s home page and select either Auburn or Dowds

5-8 students: Access ProgressBook or your teacher’s Moodle page

9-12 students: Access Echo or ProgressBook

Once you find the appropriate grade/course work, either complete the assignments online or print off the assignments and work on them with pen or pencil.  Also, students may copy questions onto notebook paper rather than print the assignment from the computer.

[b]All students will have two weeks to complete the assignments for each “blizzard bag” and submit them to his or her teacher.

What happens if a student does not have internet access at home?  Those students may pick up their assignments when they return to school and they will have the same two week allotment to complete their work.  It is important to understand that students will not be penalized if they do not have online access at home.[/b]

If the Shelby City School District uses more than eight calamity days (the original five plus the three blizzard bags), the district will be required to make up those days."
