I lived with my parents and went to a regional school and came out with $20K in debt. [/quote] +1. I definitely knew law students who lived like biglaw associates in a smaller northeastern city. They needed to be in doorman buildings in one of the fancier parts of town, go to the local restaurants in that part of town etc. -- when the dorms and the campus eateries were more than sufficient. Of course this was 8+ yrs ago when they were fairly certain they'd get biglaw jobs and have no problem paying off the debt. But still it adds up and when they got tired of the biglaw grind after 3-4 yrs, they were stuck because they still had significant debt to service.[/quote]
