confusing parminder nagra and mindy kaling is like confusing eddie murphy and idris elba, or ryan gosling and cillian murphy. it doesn't mean you are racist, but that you have an alarming level of face blindness. which is a real condition that some people have, and something you'd want to talk to a doctor about.
o People often confuse the Ryans. Gosling and Reynolds. People confuse actors all the time. Don’t be so defensive.
Exactly. I confuse all the actors named Chris. Also Matt Damon & Leonardo DiCaprio. They are both 50ish, about 5'11, brown hair, receding hairlines. Not saying they are twins, but I don't distinguish their roles, except for Titanic. Also, Mindy played a MD in The Mindy Project with scenes at the hospital, so I'm not going to call out someone who confuses her with a MD/Resident actress on ER.
Dp. Good points, though one difference is the white men that you named are way more common in Hollywood. We can all name dozens and dozens of white male actors across generations and yes many are named Chris. I recently read a stat that there are more CEOs in America named Jeff than there are women CEOs in America. There’s nothing unique about a white male CEO. Anything else is significantly less common. I don’t think it’s worth shaming people for confusing Indian actresses. But I do find it odd that someone would bother to read this thread if they have no clue who Mindy is, her body of work, etc though it certainly does not offend me.
It was John. And this stopped being true three years ago. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2023-04-25/women-ceos-at-big-companies-finally-outnumber-those-named-john
