The academic pedigree of UChicago was built upon the backs of pure intellects, not a bunch of “polished”, DC trust fund babies. If you know anything about the school, you know that Chicago never gave 2 wits about polish. And that their new admissions preferences are first and foremost about finances, not merit.[/quote]

Except all of the kids are still wicked smart.

+100 - the haters are just upset that there can be polished smart kids that happen to be well off. The NYC private kid I know at UChicago majors in math with perfect SAT scores, and is very well spoken and intellectually driven. This is not an either or situation. They are ALSO wicked smart.
