I don't think it's very good. I like the music and 90s vibe and costumes but JFK Jr seems like a sweet shy man and that's not at all how he seemed, like they removed all the magnetism and confidence from him. Do not care for Meryl's dd who is just the dullest actress in everything. The one who steals the show for me is Kelly Klein.
Does anybody see even the faintest physical resemblance between the actress & Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg?
I don't think Grace resembles Caroline but I think she did a great job with the posture and mannerisms, and did a good job of capturing Caroline's practicality and guardedness. I also think the styling is pretty good:
The styling IS good but I think they portray Caroline is a stuffy bore with zero personality or inner joy whatsoever. Being guarded does not mean you are like that especially when with loved ones.
I actually do think Caroline is kind of stuffy and boring. She is not the kind of person who is going to roaring with laughter at a party or making witty double entendres with her friends. I say this because it is also what I am like, and like recognizes like. Some people really are just reserved and somewhat quiet, and people who are very guarded tend to still be somewhat guarded even with family. Where do you think we learned the value in being guarded? Growing up in our families. I do think the show does a good job of portraying how Caroline chose a specific life for herself when she selected her husband, and ultimately what she comes to value -- family, stability, predictability. This appears to be a realistic portrayal of who she is as a person. Also, as in real life, her husband is clearly stuffier and more dreary than she is, and you can feel this in the scenes where they are together. But in the scenes between Caroline and John, you do feel a different side of her, especially when she is giving him practical advice about Carolyn (and Daryl) -- you sense that she is also a very direct person who, with family, does not pull punches or baby people. All of this feels very much in keeping with Caroline's public image and what we know about her. I think it's a likable portrayal, even if it doesn't go out of it's way to flatter her.
