At a minimum, Crown should be used as a holding school for Magruder. It would allow the Magruder repairs to be completed much quicker than if they have to wait to fix Wootton before they can use that as their holding school.
There is no money currently allocated to renovate Magruder, just like there's no current money allocated to renovate Wootton. The CIP goes out to 2032, so Magruder wouldn't even start until 6 years from now. Every "Save Wootton" post reads like "We can keep the current Wootton site with 1 neat trick: Spend millions of dollars to keep the current site open"
Thanks for your defeatist perspective of “we don’t have money”. We do, of course, have a lot of money, we just need to allocate it more effectively. For example, on fixing schools instead of spending years and millions of dollars holding charade boundary studies and then immediately flipping the table on all that work. Or instead of paying staff whose work doesn’t actually benefit the community. Crown should be used as a holding school, and rosemont and fields road should be free to use it if they wish. It’s an easy win that can make everyone come out ahead, instead of upending a high performing cluster which does not want these changes, to the benefit of no one.
