With the end of quarter situation, APS has a problem if they don’t open. The superintendent has now communicated a plan addressing end of quarter predicated on opening Monday. That is not done lightly. Sure an asteroid could hit Sunday and things could change. But the man had all the information he was going to get when they made the end of quarter plan and an email went out. People with younger kids don’t pay attention to end of quarter.
I do think they will open but if they don’t they will just extend the grading period. In Loudoun our quarter ended 1/22 and grades were supposed to be done 1/29- that was extended to 2/3 because of the closure. They can move it.
They didn’t move it. The APS superintendent already sent a message.
DP – I know he said grades closed Tuesday, but another teacher told us they don’t have to get them in until Thursday….
The Tuesday deadline is meant to give the teacher time to grade last minute things and turn it around. I’m sure individual teachers can give discretion to turn things in at the last minute if they want to be accommodating and little grading effort is required.
