I’m Not going to judge, he has a chance to Turn his life around and repent - but it would be a long row to hoe
This is correct. Jesus saved a criminal who was dying on the cross alongside him. According to Christian teachings, if Trump was truly repentant and whole heartedly accepted Jesus as his savior, then yes, he would be forgiven and accepted. It should be noted that God can see right through people (he knows your thoughts, not just verbal prayers), so it would have to be meaningful.
I find this so hard to swallow from today's Evangelical Christians. There are exceptions out there from every faith, people doing good works and trying hard everyday to follow Jesus' teachings. But the majority of Evangelicals I encounter spend all their time hating and condemning and the fruits of their life are misery for other people outside their little chosen circle. I do not believe merely *saying* you have wholeheartedly accepted Jesus as your savior and then living a life of hateful and unkind behavior counts. If you really accepted Jesus in your heart, you have to live his words or at least be doing your best to do so each day. Jesus' commands are HARD. They do NOT align with many of the ideals of America and certainly not with the principles of MAGA. Most Evangelicals fail completely on this count. So their sanctimonious words ring completely hollow to me. They do Satan's work while having the audacity to have Jesus' words in their mouths. They use Jesus' words as a weapon, not a balm. That said, there is not one single person I could say I want to go to Hell. If hell exists, I cannot imagine wanting to condemn a person to that. Eternal pain is not something I could bring myself to wish on anyone, even the most evil person. It is beyond imagining. I hope there is a purgatory.
