But almost no merit aid whatsoever. Like most privates in this tier. DS (who had the resume for most Ivies ) was offered merit - including one full ride offer - from multiple ~T35-45s.   Not a dollar from Vandy.

But, he likes it there. He’s one of the really smart, social, fun (white, unhooked) types that you’re all analyzing. And for males, at least, you all have the Vandy “Greek culture” thing completely wrong. It’s obvious to me that those pontificators are on the far outside looking in and getting their info from other outsiders on Reddit and CC. Frat like at Vandy is super low key and not exclusive.  Anyone in DS’s fraternity who needs a scholarship to participate in Greek like gets one, no questions asked. They also get additional money for frat events if they ask (for travel, event tickets). It’s incredibly egalitarian.
