How are the MOCO tryouts like?
Here is the answer recently posted on a different thread: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/15/1278528.page#30612756 "U14 is very competitive in all clubs. Moco has a lot of returners who want to make it back to their teams or climb one level within the club. If your daughter is comparable to a returner in all aspects, the returner will likely get the spot. Some teams lose a few players to better clubs, so that's a chance for players from other clubs to make a team. But these outsiders will compete with club players who want to trickle up from the bottom teams. If players trickle up, a few spots become available in the bottom teams. Those few spots will likely be taken by players from weaker clubs who want an upgrade. It is very unlikely to make a Moco team with no club experience, especially at the U14 level. To increase your chances to make a Moco team, go to their fall tryouts - that's where you will see some (but not all) of your competition." Provide more specific details if you are looking for more specific answers.
Are Moco Tryouts Usually competitive?
It depends on the age group, with higher age groups more competitive than the early age groups. It is quite rare to make a higher age MOCO team with no club experience. The top players who cannot make MVSA will likely pick MOCO instead. MOCO also develops players through their teams (and some may be as good as the MVSA players). The more context you provide, the easier and more targeted the answer can be. It is hard to provide answer to very generic questions that capture the full picture.
