Can anyone please share the MVP email? They haven’t sent it to those of us no longer in the program
Here’s the email: Dear MVP Families: We were recently made aware of this report involving a member of the MVP community. We have not been contacted by law enforcement and have no additional details. If you have any pertinent information, please contact the police as requested in the report. MVP Board
Is MVP’s position still that they “have no additional details” about this case? From the case documents being available to the public, I hope that is not their stance and they keep us updated instead of hoping that we forget about this.
MVP is a parent volunteer run organization for summer swim. Different than swim teams like ASA, which is a club team.
Agree. It’s not MVP’s fault or ASA’s fault that this guy is an a$$hole.
That may be true, but if they knew of the police report, even if it didn't result in an arrest, they had a responsibility to keep him away from the kids in at least in such a highly interactive role as team photographer.
I doubt they knew of the police report- there was no arrest (unfortunately) in 2023. It’s not something Mahony advertised I am sure. The wife on the other hand definitely knew and allowed him to be around children- just terrible.
It’s criminal. Someone told her to escape. And fast.
Her quick escape out of the country is very suspicious.
Playing devils advocate… Are we certain that this trip wasn’t already planned? Most swim families wait until August to travel and if her family lives in Japan, visiting in August is not unusual. The feds will be able to see when those flights were booked. That said, I’m having trouble comprehending the fact she was napping as her husband was sexually abusing these kids. Did he roofie her or give her a sedative? If she was complicit, I worry about the Mahony children. What have they seen or experienced? Any idea if a house search is SOP for this type of crime?
In the forensic interview of one of the victims, the victim said he thought the defendant's son may have seen what was going on but may have not because he was so focused on playing the video game he was playing. This was the incident in which Thomas, the victim, and one of Thomas's sons were all in a bedroom together. Thomas rubbed the victim's penis over his clothes. The victim kept trying to move away and Thomas kept following and rubbing his penis over his clothes. While Thomas's son was RIGHT THERE. Read the report. Thomas is a brazen sicko.
I wonder what his defense will be. I can’t see him entering a guilty plea and taking whatever punishment is handed to him. I think this guilty creep is going to deny everything. The attorney that he hired signaled that.
How did his attorney signal that he will plead not guilty?
From reading her online bio and reading about her, she doesn’t seem to be the type of attorney one would hire if one were going to roll over and plead guilty.
