The Democrats do not have the leverage, because Republicans want less government and are not as upset by a government shutdown.  That is just DOGE on steroids.
Republicans do not have to negotiate.  This one guy wrote a book about the person with the most leverage is the one who is willing to walk away from the table.[/quote]
