I’m not Gen Z, middle age.  But I can totally see why the young kids these days call it boring and a dump.

There is no way I would live in Bethesda if I was young and single.  No way.  Boring.

You should see the people moving into the $3 million+ new builds. They're young families, they have the money, and they're choosing Bethesda. I wish I had that sort of money also, but I'm not going to badmouth Bethesda just because I can't afford it. I like going to the downtown area (both old and new), and I had the money, Bethesda would be my first choice in this area as to where to live.

I’m the PP and I said young and single, not mid 30’s with young kids.

Reality is lots of people are sending their kids to private schools in Bethesda and not public.  If you are going to do that for your kids, might as well just stay in the city, live WOTP which has much more character and nicer neighborhoods then cookie cutter new builds like Bethesda.

If you can’t afford private and are going to send your kid to public, McLean has better school pyramid, bigger and better neighborhoods, can go to TJ for high school, and a ton of great in state colleges.

Plus it’s actually closer to downtown than Bethesda Row both in commute and the metro.
