[/quote] Ingredients can be inexpensive. But there is time involved in making it into food. That is something the parents may lack. Also the possibility of living in food deserts. I remember my parents making a 45 min trip on the one day they both had off (one car only) so they could go to the nearest grocery store to get ingredients for food. [/quote]
