Transportation is the issue. There are a few ways to fix this issue:

1. Where safely possible, make all students who live within 1.5 miles walk/bike to school. I think it's currently 1.0 miles.

2.  Combine bus stops where possible and combine buses where possible.

3. Get rid of AAP centers in middle schools. That would cut the need for a bunch of buses in some areas. [/quote]

Pretty sure it is 1.5 miles for middle school already.  Our elementary is closer and we had a bus for elementary, but walk to the middle school.

THe kids are already sitting on top of each other so combining buses is a non starter. There is only so far they can legally squeeze kids on a bus. Plus that just adds time to the bus route which puts the entire schedule longer and won’t help start times becuase they will have to start earlier to make all the stops on one route.

AAP centers aren’t making that much difference. Besides, with redistricting who knows where a kid will actually end up going to school right now.
