Um. Tons of people in the DC area are from NY. Look, lady, we all get it. You hate DC, you’re miserable, and you’re probably too poor for the area - and your coping strategy is to generalize from you to “everyone.” You don’t know everyone. No one in my group of friends is miserable here. We all came from other areas, and we love it here. Your small world doesn’t actually represent DC suburbs in any way, shape, or form. 10 people shouting over and over again that this is the worst place ever doesn’t make it so. I do hope you get to move somewhere else, but I think you’ll quickly discover it’s not the geo, it’s you that’s the problem. [/quote]

Look, lady, you came here from Ohio and you love it. That's great. I think this area is nice too. But I had a few friends move here from NYC for the same reasons as the OP, and they discovered it was not a good fit and they moved back. All they could do was compare DC unfavorably to NYC; OP sounds like they're headed down that road.[/quote]

You sound like an AH. There are plenty of places in this area where you can walk out your door and go to a coffee shop, farmers market, playground etc.

Of course it’s not NYC and if that’s all you want or you keep comparing it to NYC you won’t be satisfied but plenty of people are actually happy to have an urban lifestyle without actually having to live in NYC. [/quote]
