We all want the good sides of gentrification (jobs, safety, education, etc) but feel for the displaced in the process. I didn't do anything today. But I am prepared to sell at a lower price to a family rather to a developer. I am (secretly) prepared to sell to a family that will increase the ethnic diversity of my neighborhood. I am prepared to vote for people who pay attention to that sort of thing - but I can't any, honestly. All local officials seem to focus on either woke or anti-woke values, and when in office, they're just keeping the status quo to go on to higher things.
Be careful. I live in Arlington and our neighbor sold her home at a reasonable price to a LatinX family with young kids. Turns out they were a front for a developer. The seller and the neighbors had no idea until the developer tore down the house 3 months after the “young family” closed.
