Your line of reasoning isn’t entirely clear, but are you trying to suggest servers would prefer to live off tips rather than a guaranteed salary? And why not just add on an automatic 20% service fee or increase menu prices accordingly and do away with tipping? As a consumer it doesn’t really matter how the price is broken down to me. I, and many others, are tired of this murky payment situation and as is, good tippers like myself end up subsidizing the meals of the poor tippers. Why should my meal cost more just because I’m not a cheapskate?[/quote]
