The Public Space Committee (part of DDOT) met virtually to discuss the developer's permit request to extend a paper alley to their property for parking. Essentially, the request was to extend an alley by paving behind three opposed owners' properties, over a city owned water control feature, and green space in order to create parking for a developer's property that is for sale. Of note, the property was bought in 2020 without off-street parking and the developer never made plans to add off-street parking to the new design until after the newly constructed house was complete. The developer also built an illegal unpermitted road over the city's property in order to access the back of the property during construction. The developer was then forced by the city to remove the illegal road. The Public Space Committee voted unanimously today (5-0) against the permit. 10 days ago, the ANC also voted unanimously (7-0) against this same application. The developer's spoke person was informed they could reapply and address the committee's multiple concerns if they like, but we all know that will take months, additional costs, and likely have the same outcome given the compelling back to back 12-0 unanimous vote (ANC and PSC) against this permit application.

Hopefully, the developer and real estate agent will finally stop falsely listing this property with the promise of two parking spaces in the  rear. At this point it is clear such claims are unethical and false.[/quote]
