Hope y'all are proud to have your movement led by a guy who's literally a criminal scumbag. Who are you even talking to? I doubt there are many truckers on this website. It's not "our movement" - but they have every right to protest, wouldn't you agree? Sure you would. Right to protest? Sure. Right to block traffic for hundreds of thousands of everyday workers? Hell no. That is within the right to protest. Now could they be arrested for breaking the law. Sure. Idiots think they can just decide what their rights and the Constitution are. Sorry, but welcome to reality - rights and the Constitution have real meaning. It is not a right, nor Constitutional, to intentionally use a bunch of big trucks to clog interstate highways as a political stunt. That is illegal, even if it is a "protest." Of course it is illegal. So was the march on the Edmund Pettus bridge which shut down traffic. So were MLK's marches in a number of cities. So were the anti-South Africa protests in the 1980s. So was Occupy Wallstreet. So were the BLM marches over the last couple of years. So were the anti-Vietnam war sit-ins. That's not the point. Of course they will be arrested. They have a right to their protest. That right comes with getting arrested. That is the American tradition. That is unless you want to take the view that all of those protests should not have happened. There is a difference between a scheduled point to point protest march lasting part of a day and a plan to occupy and obstruct transportation and commerce for a week or weeks. There is also a huge difference between protesting racial oppression and the racist police state of 1960s Alabama and protesting basic traditional public health measures that don’t harm or discriminate against anyone. This is a more extreme action and it’s for the stupidest cause. No there is not and that is the point. You have to be ok with a KKK/Nazi rally if you are okay with a BLM rally. Not okay in the sense you agree but ok in the sense that it has a right to occur. Where is the evidence that this is anything other than a march? They have no plans to block traffic for weeks. Lol no we will take your position and demand the police go in hard on these anti American rallies. These people do not believe in the USA and wish it destroyed. We will not sit on the sidelines and let them destroy the country. Interestingly, this exact statement resonates on the other side... They think the same of you: "These people do not believe in the USA and wish it destroyed. We will not sit on the sidelines and let them destroy the country". You are destroying the country by supporting the mandates that divide and segregate people and deny them the rights over their bodies
I don't support the mandates, but I also don't support people blocking interstate and inter country commerce. So which side am I on?
The side that expresses their grievances in reasonable, legal ways. AKA, the people I can agree to disagree with and don’t hold personals animosity towards.
Again, what do you base this information on? Do you have any proof they are trying to block the interstate or the beltway and cut out DC from getting any resources? A convoy of trucks can cause traffic, it doesn't mean that traffic stops cars from going in and out, we deal wtih this every single day FFS. How many times did you have to avoid the beltway and take the alternative route because it was unusable? And will teh truckers protest on a highway and just sit there? I would think their goal would be to protest around the National Mall where all other protests take place, not sit outside of the beltway honking at the suburban residents who have nothing to do with politics.
