Why do the stores in DCUSA not have windows? Anyway, last time I was in DCUSA there was a shooting across the street and the police kept everybody in the building. Also super expensive parking. What is not to like?
parking is $5 for two hours. thats expensive to you?
It's certainly more expensive than $0. Other places at least validate with proof of purchase. I'd rather just drive out to the suburbs where I can get all my shopping done in one spot.
How much does that cost?
Gas costs ~$3/gallon and it takes less than a gallon to get to Silver Spring and back, depending on your car. Plus, it's the convenience of hitting multiple stores in a close proximity in one trip, more convenient if there are stock outs at one store vs another. They're all big box/national stores, so you save more money by that virtue alone. I'd live out in the suburbs, but you go into work everyday (pre-pandemic), but you go shopping maybe 1-2x a week.
Ok, so you're spending $3 in gas, plus mileage, plus your time (depending on where you live), to drive to somewhere in eastern Montgomery County, to avoid paying $5 for parking for 2 hours. It's your choice, of course, but financially it doesn't make sense.
