Where does this idea come from, that you're not wealthy unless you go on lots of fancy vacations? Is that an idea that real people have in real life? I've only ever encountered it on DCUM.[/quote]

When people are worried about sending kids to a wealthy school, one thing many such people worry about is that their kids will get a very skewed view of life (and will face considerable peer pressure) related to the lifestyle of the other students.  Fancy vacations, second homes, expensive cars etc all factor into this.[/quote]
