Building off the ridiculousness that Christina helped shape ESSA....the law was signed in 2015 which means most of the “shaping” happened when Christina was still a STUDENT. It was signed when she was barely into her first ever job as a TFA ill-equipped teacher. Let’s vote for candidates with actual experience and roots in Arlington. [/quote]

Interesting discourse here.  The young lady looks like she has potential.   I hate to say this but it’s hard to imagine a white privileged person being able to accurately represent the 30% of latin students currently enrolled.  I appreciate the work that Tannia has done and if she is endorsing Cristina, then so am I. 90% of the kids that dropped out last year are latin.  Tannia has been a very wise and measured leader for us.  Her support for Cristina is enough.  With a median age of 33 in Arlington, we should not have leaders that are two generations removed from what’s actually happening in our schools.  Perhaps that’s what’s going on here.  There are a ton of young leaders all over the country rising up.  I say give them a shot and pass the baton.  I plan on voting for her!

First... I was referring to the overall tone in this group.  Secondly, have you personally interacted with her? Don’t make assumptions about what you think you can gather online.  Perhaps you might consider reaching out to her directly to educate and better inform yourself.  I’m very excited that a young person has decided to run for office and I can’t wait to see this play out fair and square! That’s your interpretation and you’re entitled to it. I would simply invite you to do your research and know your facts before making false accusations.  This is hardly true.  She showed up, did (and continues to do) the hard work when no one else does.  There are openings on several commissions and I encourage you to apply. Put up or shut up![/quote]

Others don't have the opportunity to do the hard work when selected people with connections are appointed in their stead.  Many long-time residents do apply for these things and are not accepted....but she was - on MULTIPLE ones.  THAT's what people are complaining about.[/quote][/quote]
