It’s not being obtuse, it literally is the entire damn point of the movie. She discovers she has a horrible bloodline and chooses to be good instead of following her granddad down a path of evil. She rejects being Empress and kills her grandpa and chooses to align with Luke Skywalker, becoming a light side/Jedi Palpatine. [/quote]

Nobody ever said “Palpatine“ wins. He doesn’t, you’re the only one who keeps implying that.

But she’s still Palpatine’s granddaughter and that doesn’t just change the fact that she is. Shes choosing to not be a evil Palpatine and choosing to look up to her mentors, the Skywalkers, for good.

She is still Palpatine’s granddaughter. Nothing in that regard changes. She’s still a Palpatine.
