NP. Same experience as some PPs. Parents cheering clearances all the time because they are novices and don't see the opportunities to retain possession or pass. Everyone who has played Arlington has seen this. Lots of other clubs too. So nothing special or different going on, that's what's wrong with some posters. This is DMV soccer.
DMV soccer and soccer in USA overall with few exceptions. Playing for results so parents can come on here an brag about winning a championship at U11. Stupid. For teams like Arlington girls, the wins are the most important, so much so that they won't even try to possess when playing lesser opponents. That one video posted is exactly what I have seen from Arlington girls for 3 or 4 years now - the poster stating otherwise notwithstanding.
I think people have said it depends on the level/strategy of the competition. They are being directed to possess the ball, which can be seen when they play teams that do not press them. When they play teams that challenge them with lots of pressure, they make lots of mistakes. Not entirely unexpected when you are dealing with 13-16 year old girls. I've seen really good possession professional men's teams reduced to ugly soccer when pressed, why should it be different for little girls just learning how to play that way. You really need to lighten up.
