An all boys environment is known to temper the macho element associated with teen athletes. The same athletes at Gonzaga, for example, participated in a poetry slam, sang in choral arts concerts, and had parts in drama productions. What fosters the "macho" element is oftentimes the presence of the opposite sex.[/quote]
