I found a 2023 pdf where the club mentions a deal with Fairfax parks for fairfax/loudoun border fields. Is this what the Crazy Dad and Fake Parent is going on about? So the public park space didn’t work out? So what? We have fields now that are much closer. As someone in Western Loudoun with 2 players I am glad! We would not stay if the fields were that far. If FCV does ever look at this board: you already have Fairfax STJ, if you are thinking about a permanent second Loudoun location, it should be in Loudoun.
+1 Fields need to stay in loudoun proper.
I don't think you are aware of what the club is saying / posting... Former FCV parent, but the location depends on your age group. At least for the girls, in a parent / coach meeting in March, we were told the strategy was to have local practices at the U12 and younger age groups, but after that the North (Loudoun) and South (Springfield) teams would "merge" to form the best teams. Practices were to be in a central location, assuming this is Nysmith School in Chantilly (we weren't a fan of these fields, as only 1 side has lights and it is right on top of the road...but it is turf!). We were told that since our age group didn't have a South team, only North, that is why it would begin in the 2014 and younger age groups. But, the merging was only for GA1. GA2 would remain local. This is stated on the TSJFC page: https://thestjamessoccer.com/the-st-james-fc/travel-soccer/ Beginning at U11 our Advanced Competitive Programming will begin and Pre-Academy teams will be created regionally within Loudoun & Fairfax County. Still minimizing travel for our high level programming. At U13 our national level Academy team will be formed from our regional Pre-Academy player pools. These players will play at a centralized location located on the Loudoun/ Fairfax boarder. At U13 the regional Pre-Academy teams will become Academy 2 teams and continue is a similar training format as the full Academy and they will continue to train in their regional locations. Local travel teams will continue to train and play at their specific sites which will continue through U19. At the time of the statement, the Chantilly fields in the 2023 pdf had already fallen through. We were told that Fairfax would build, and FCV would maintain. Then we didn't hear anything. At AB's intro Zoom meeting in January, we were told that a plan was underway with a school along route 7 where fields would be built on the school property. We assumed Va Academy. Then we didn't hear anything. At the same parent/ coach meeting in March, we were told we would probably get the two new One Loudoun fields (by Silver Diner) allocated by the county. TBD So, based on the field options, guessing the Centralized Location is Nysmith.
